Lazio vs Empoli Predictions

Lazio finding form at the right time

A few weeks ago, Lazio looked destined to miss out on European qualification this season, but a run of four wins in their last five outings means they have climbed back up the table.

Igor Tudor’s side have kept clean sheets in two of those victories, 1-0 successes against Verona and Genoa, while they also recently defeated Juventus 2-1.

Indeed, they have been pretty good at the back for quite a while now. Of their last dozen outings at the Stadio Olimpico, eight have ended in victory, while the opposition has failed to score in six of those fixtures.

Empoli still in deep trouble

That does not bode well for visitors Empoli, who arrive in Rome just a couple of points outside of the Serie A relegation zone and with only three games to secure their place in the top flight.

The Blues are on a miserable run of form, drawing 0-0 with fellow-strugglers Frosinone last time out to make it just one goal in their last four outings, that coming in a 1-0 victory over Napoli.

In all, it’s six defeats across their last nine fixtures, firing blanks in six of those, including four successive defeats away from home, all of them to nil.

I predict that Lazio will win this game without both teams scoring, selecting 2-0 as my correct score prediction.
